QR codes can be used anywhere. Yes… anywhere!

QR codes (Quick Response Codes) have come a long way since they were first invented in 1994, in the UK they really took off after the pandemic when restrictions were lifted.

These quick and handy codes have since been used to direct people in many ways:

  • To take donations
  • Make payments
  • View menus
  • Access forms & surveys

From a research perspective, charities started implementing trackable QR codes to determine which fundraising streams are most effective, learn more about their supporters engagements and obtain relevant opt ins for future campaigns or relationships.

Since Supported Giving launched in 2019, hundreds of charities have used our QR codes and online giving to raise awareness and grow their supporters base, offering a quick, easy and simple donation method. Initially, QR codes were used on leaflets, posters and collection tins however, they can be used pretty much anywhere.
