Case Study

Tim Henman Foundation

In June 2025, the Tim Henman Foundation launched an inspiring fundraising campaign centered around a remarkable individual challenge. Andy Aitken, a tennis coach based at Wantage Tennis Club, undertook a 25-hour, 100-kilometer walk across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

Along the way, Andy stopped at six different tennis clubs, connecting with players of all ages, from kids to adults. But this challenge was about more than just endurance. Andy took the opportunity to experience what it’s like to play sports with a disability.

To assist with their fundraising, the Tim Henman Foundation teamed up with Supported Giving to implement a QR code-based donation platform. This approach allowed supporters to donate instantly by scanning codes promoted via social media. The campaign was a huge success, raising many thousands of pounds.

In summary, the Tim Henman Foundation worked with Coach Andy Aitken and Supported Giving to turn a personal challenge into a successful community effort. Using QR codes made it easy to reach donors, while Andy’s dedication to inclusive sport added a powerful, personal touch. This story shows how technology, sharing experiences, and helping others can come together to make a real difference.

With the help of Supported Giving we were able to come up with a solution where supporters could easily scan the QR code and donate towards Andy's amazing challenge. The QR code was displayed on the back of Andy's clothing so people could scan him on the move, As well as being able to display the code on promotional material. Furthermore, we shared the link online to those who wanted to support from afar. The team at Supported Giving were so proactive and communicative from the start of the idea right until the end, and The Tim Henman Foundation are really grateful for their support.
