Liberate is a Guernsey registered charity established in 2014 to include, inform and support the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) communities across the Channel Islands.
Liberate Guernsey first started their cashless fundraising journey with Supported Giving early 2022 with the vision to focus on increasing their regular supporters (Liberate Legends). Supported Giving’s QR codes allowed them to default the donation page straight to the regular giving option.
Liberate Guernsey used the QR code at their in person events which were located on leaflets, on tables and posters around the venue. They also used a fantastic message on the donation page to encourage potential donors to make a regular donation so they can continue the fantastic work they carry out, supporting the LGBTQ community with many of the supporters being able to see the work themselves in person!
As Liberate Guernsey enter their second year with Supported Giving, they have continued to grow their regular giving database and now see thousands of pounds donated each month from Liberate Legends.
Supported giving enabled Liberate.gg in one year to significantly diversify its income streams, vitally in the form of annuity/recurring donations from individual supporters/stakeholders. As trustee, this gives significant platform on which to build, and develop, financial robustness that will help ensure charity viability into the long-term future.
